We have about 17 scholarships available through the Energy Institute for those who minor in Energy Technology and Management. The scholarship categories given out annually are listed below:
The George Mitchell Energy Scholars awarded by Hart Energy
10 scholarships awarded annually ($1,000 each) and presented at the nationally acclaimed DUG Conferences in Ft. Worth.
Foster Howell Scholars
4 scholarship awarded annually ($2,300 each). Presented by the Borgdon Family in honor of Mr. Howell.
The Jarvie Family Energy Scholars
A scholarship awarded annually ($1,500) by the Jarvie Family to an energy minor studying shale core.
The Dan Allen and Peggy Hughes Endowed Energy Scholars
2 scholarships ($2,000 each) to eligible energy technology and management minors.
All Scholarships are given annually. Notification of availability is sent out each semester along with the application process. Application is made through Dr. Morgan, Director of the Energy Institute. In general, you must be an energy minor, at least a junior with a 3.0 gpa, completed a FASFA and qualify for additional scholarship funds.
